The most common wall art mistake isn't the design. It's the size. A piece that's too small looks lost; one that's too big crowds the room. Here's how to get it right.
The two-thirds rule
Above furniture, artwork should be about two-thirds the width of the piece below it. Above a 6-foot (72-inch) sofa, look for art around 45–50 inches wide, or a group of pieces that adds up to that width.
Hang it at eye level
The centre of the artwork should sit about 57–60 inches (145–152 cm) from the floor. Above a sofa or bed, leave 8–10 inches (20–25 cm) between the furniture and the bottom of the frame.
Match the shape to the wall
Landscape pieces suit sofas, beds, sideboards and long dining walls.
Portrait pieces suit narrow walls, staircases, entryways and spaces between windows.
Square pieces suit pooja rooms, accent walls and small corners.
Our standard size
Most Homu Tatva pieces are 36 × 20 inches, a versatile size that works above a 3-seater sofa, a queen bed or a standard console. Not sure what suits your space? WhatsApp us a photo of your wall and we'll help you choose.
